Apostle Gerald has been a Teacher, Coach and Trainer for over 20 years. He has a strong desire to see people reach their full potential through mentoring and developing positive covenant relationships.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS. Gerald played college football at Kansas State University and professional football in the National Football League (NFL) for the Houston Oilers and the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the British Columbia Lions (Vancouver). He enjoyed coaching football at the High School, College and semi- professional levels before going into ministry full-time. He is trained as a Campus Athletic Chaplain through Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and is a graduate of the Discipleship Training Institute in Tampa, Florida.
Through transparency about his personal journey of deliverance from alcohol, drugs, rebellion, lust and perversion and, he ministers along with his wife, Yvette.
Together they provide counseling and training to individuals and married couples through their ministry Gerald and Yvette Ministries, known as “GYM”.
His passion for combining character development with the Word of God is helping to develop Kingdom men which ultimately builds stronger communities, marriages and families. He spreads this message through teaching the roles of a Priest, Prophet and King (PPK).
He and Yvette have recently co-authored the book Bent, But Not Broken, their transparent story of unconditional love and perseverance of a prodigal husband who left his family, returned home, got healed and delivered, and is now experiencing the true restoration of everything they once lost.
The Bentons live in the Atlanta, GA area and have been married for almost 20 years with a blended family of 5 children.
